DMA Friends & Partners FAQs

DMA Friends

What is happening?

On January 21, 2013, the DMA returned to free general admission and launched an innovative new visitor engagement opportunity available free of charge to the public. The new program is called DMA Friends & Partners. Through this groundbreaking approach, the DMA seeks to encourage a vibrant and connected community as part of the Museum, as well as strengthen the larger cultural community in Dallas. Our goal is to invite everyone to have an unforgettable experience with the DMA.

How do I become a DMA Friend?

DMA Friends is a free, optional program that encourages and recognizes visitor participation as an essential ingredient of the museum experience. Currently, participants must enroll at kiosks in the Museum, but plans are underway to add an online sign-up option.

At the time of enrollment, new DMA Friends receive a card allowing them to chart their engagement with the Museum. As members visit exhibitions, attend programs, dialogue with others, contribute creatively, share their experiences online, and participate in other local arts events, they earn credit for their participation that can be converted into a variety of rewards. Each DMA Friend can choose which rewards best reflect his or her interests. Discounts, access to special programs, free tickets, and other opportunities are among the many ways the DMA is saying thank you to visitors who enrich the experience of the Museum by their participation.

If I am only visiting Dallas can I still participate?

Yes. In phase two, we plan to expand the program over the course of its inaugural year to include a dynamic online component that will offer rewards for participation to out of town visitors.

DMA Partners

How do I become a DMA Partner?

The new DMA Partners program offers benefits to individual donors at eleven different levels, ranging from $100 to $25,000. Click here to see the Partners Chart! DMA staff can help you become a Partner in person at the Museum or over the phone at 214-922-1247. You are also welcome to make your contribution online at DMA.org/partners.

I am a current member. What will happen to my membership?

On January 21, 2013, we converted your membership to a partnership. DMA Partners receive benefits commensurate with their giving, and their philanthropic involvement with the DMA enables the Museum to provide free admission to the community at large.

I’m a DMA Partner. Can I also be a DMA Friend?

Yes. By checking in at one of our Friend kiosks with your DMA Partner card, you can activate your Friend account and begin earning rewards when you participate.

How do I purchase a DMA Partnership as a gift?

Gift partnerships can be purchased online at DMA.org, by phone at 214-922-1247, by e-mail at partners@DMA.org, or in person at the Museum. Please be prepared to provide the recipient’s contact information.

How can I help support the DMA if I choose not to become a Partner at this time?

We value your contributions and encourage you to make them at any time throughout the year. Gifts to the Museum allow us to provide free general admission, educational outreach, and exhibition programming to all visitors. To learn more, please contact a DMA Partner representative by phone at 214-922-1247, by e-mail at partners@DMA.org, or on-site at the Museum.

DMA Corporate Partners

What if I am currently a Corporate Member?

Corporate giving will be approached in a similar way, with benefits adjusted to elevate active corporate engagement and recognition. Simultaneously, there will be a continuing focus on sponsorship, seeking support of special exhibitions and other programs that offer civic-enhancement opportunities for businesses serving the greater Dallas region.

The DMA is in the process of updating the Corporate Partners program to promote enhanced levels of engagement with our corporate supporters. Information will be available shortly, so please check our website at DMA.org/partners.
