Arturo’s Art & Me

Selected Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; select one class day per month.

For a 3–5 year old and a favorite grown-up! Adults and young children will work together to look at works of art, read a related story in the galleries, and do an art-making activity in the Art Studio. Taught by Museum Education staff. Class size limited to eighteen children.

$5 for DMA Partners; $8 for the public. Adults and younger siblings do not need a ticket. To register for the class, click here to go to the ticketing website.  Homeschool Class

The Dallas Museum of Art’s homeschool classes offer an interactive Museum experience for families with children ages 6 and above. Parents and children learn about works of art together in the galleries, participate in hands-on activities as a family, and create a work of art together in the Art Studio. During the program, parents learn techniques and skills for creating their own educational experiences in the gallery. 
 
$5 per participating child for DMA Partners, $8 per participating child for the public. Participating adults and younger siblings who are not participating in the class do not need a ticket. Tween Workshops: Saturday Morning ’artoons

After you wake up and watch your Saturday morning cartoons, come by the DMA to create your own ’artoons! These hands-on animation workshops for tweens (ages 9-12) will explore a different theme and area of the Dallas Museum of Art's collection each month. 
 
These workshops are free of charge; however, registration is required. To register, e-mail Jessica Fuentes at jfuentes@DMA.org. Classes are limited to twenty-four participants ages 9-12.

What Just Happened?
Saturday, October 26, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
A work of art can capture a single moment in time. Ever wondered what was happening before that moment? Explore works of art in the American Galleries and create an animated story illustrating the moments before the painting.
 
Character Study
Saturday, November 9, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Be inspired by the portraits in the European Galleries. Imagine what the sitters' lives might have been like, and create an animation based on your story.
 
Animal Superheroes
Saturday, December 7, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
The Indonesia Gallery is filled with depictions of animal guardians. Learn about the animals (real and imaginary) that were thought to hold special protective powers, and create an animation based on your own animal guardian.
