The 18th annual appearance of “Selected Shorts” from Symphony Space in New York.

This program will have an intermission and last approximately two hours.
Tune in to the award-winning NPR series featuring classic and bold new stories read by acclaimed actors, Sundays at 5:00 p.m. on KERA 90.1.

Jill Eikenberry earned a Golden Globe Award and five Emmy Award nominations as Ann Kelsey in L.A. Law. She has starred in Broadway productions of Moonchildren, Onward Victoria, and All Over Town; she is also an Obie Award winner. She and her husband, Michael Tucker, created a cabaret show based on the story of their relationship, Life Is a Duet.
Michael Tucker is perhaps best known for his role as Stuart Markowitz in the hit series L.A. Law, for which he received three Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations. His film credits include Radio Days, Diner, and Tin Men. He has recently performed in Based on a Totally True Story at the Manhattan Theatre Club. He is the author of Living in a Foreign Country: A Memoir of Food, Wine, and Love in Italy.
Isaiah Sheffer is founder and Artistic Director of Selected Shorts live at Symphony Space, on tour, and on public radio nationwide.
Texas Bound from Broadway is directed by Isaiah Sheffer.

Left to Right:
Jessica D. Turner has appeared in the Dallas Theater Center’s productions of Pride and Prejudice and The Misanthrope and as Sara Murphy in Arts & Letters Live’s 2008 performance Blithe Spirits.
Brad Leland currently plays Buddy Garrity on the hit television series Friday Night Lights.
Liz Mikel is currently a company member of the Dallas Theater Center, where she has appeared in over twenty productions since 1990; audiences have seen her there recently in The Who’s Tommy and A Christmas Carol. She also plays Corinna Williams on the television show Friday Night Lights.
Raphael Parry is Director of Texas Bound and Executive Director of Shakespeare Dallas. This March he is directing and producing Denis Johnson’s play Psychos Never Dream in a collaboration between Project X and Kitchen Dog Theater.
G. W. Bailey currently plays Det. Lt. Provenza on TNT’s series The Closer; he is well known for his roles in the Police Academy movies and on M*A*S*H.

Tonight celebrates the publication of The PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories 2009 anthology from Anchor Books. Laura Furman will sign books following the event.

Left to Right
Laura Furman is an award-winning novelist, short story writer, and essayist. She is currently Professor of English at the University of Texas at Austin.
Joanna Schellenberg has had an award-winning career that has spanned two decades on stages across North America. She was most recently seen as Helena in All’s Well That Ends Well at Shakespeare Dallas and in A Christmas Carol at the Dallas Theater Center.
Sean Hennigan has appeared in over one hundred stage productions and in television productions such as Prison Break, JAG, and Melrose Place. Television movies and feature films include Lonesome Dove and 3:10 to Yuma, starring Russell Crowe. He is proud to be a new company member at the Dallas Theater Center.
John Feltch was a resident actor and actor with the Alley Theatre in Houston for ten years and over sixty productions. He recently appeared as the father in Eurydice at the Alley Theatre. He now lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Left to Right:
Ash Smith serves on the theater faculty at SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts. His acting credits include The Glass Menagerie and Pride and Prejudice at the Dallas Theater Center and many classic plays across the country.
Harriet Harris is a Tony and Drama Desk winner and a native Texan. She has most recently appeared in Pippin at the Mark Taper Forum, Cry-Baby: The Musical, and Old Acquaintance on Broadway. She played Bebe Glazer in the hit television series Frasier and Felicia Tillman on Desperate Housewives.
James Crawford has performed at Kitchen Dog Theater and Shakespeare Dallas and in a dozen productions at the Dallas Theater Center. In 2007 he received awards for his performances in Shadowlands and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? He is currently a professor of theater at SMU.
Hilary Couch has worked with many theaters in Dallas and Fort Worth, including Shakespeare Dallas, Risk Theater Initiative, Stage West, and Wingspan Theatre Company.
Randy Moore was a leading actor at the Dallas Theater Center for thirty years. He is now in the acting company at the Denver Center Theater Company. Randy has performed and directed for Texas Bound since its inception.
